North Shore Uranium Advances Rio Puerco Drilling Project
North Shore Uranium Ltd. has announced the engagement of Harris Exploration Drilling and Associates to execute its drill program at the Rio Puerco uranium project in New Mexico. The drill initiative, consisting of up to 27 holes, aims to validate historical data and assess further potential mineralization at the site. The start is slated for May, pending permit approvals.
The Rio Puerco project, located in the historically significant Grants Uranium District, has a reported historical resource of 6.0 million tonnes at 0.09% eU3O8 from data in the 1960s and 1970s by Kerr McGee Corporation. The program seeks to confirm this data and potentially expand the resource base.
Harris Exploration, recognized for its commitment to safety and extensive experience, including projects for NexGen Energy Ltd. and others, will lead the program. North Shore controls 83 claims at Rio Puerco, aiming to upgrade the historical resource to comply with NI 43-101 standards.
The project underscores renewed interest in the Grants Uranium District, aligning with North Shore's broader strategy in uranium exploration and development in North America.
