North Shore Uranium Expands Rio Puerco Claims
North Shore Uranium Ltd. announced the acquisition of 27 additional mining claims at its Rio Puerco project in New Mexico, enhancing its position to 64 claims under Bureau of Land Management. The project already harbors a historical uranium resource dating back to 2009, estimated at 6.0 million tonnes with 11.4 million pounds of U3O8. North Shore aims to confirm and expand the uranium mineralization and assess the potential for cost-effective in-situ recovery mining.
The historical resource, initially identified by Kerr-McGee Corporation in the 1960s, remains unverified per Canadian standards, yet serves as a foundation for North Shore's exploration strategy. The company also granted equity compensation in the form of restricted share units and stock options to staff, part of its ongoing efforts to foster internal growth and development.
