Nscale and Microsoft Collaborate on Major AI Campus in West Virginia
Nscale has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to establish a cutting-edge AI facility in West Virginia. This campus will feature 1.35 gigawatts of AI compute capacity utilizing NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin NVL72 GPUs. Nscale will leverage its recently acquired Monarch Compute Campus, the U.S.'s first state-certified AI microgrid, capable of over 8GW power output.
The collaboration involves constructing advanced data center infrastructure. The facility aims to be a cornerstone for next-gen AI training in the U.S. and is expected to impact regional job creation and technological advancement.
Caterpillar will contribute with its G3500 series natural gas generators, providing 2GW power by 2028. Additionally, Nscale plans to utilize carbon sequestration to offset emissions, maintaining an environmentally-conscious approach.
