Malick Fofana Joins Sunderland from Olympique Lyonnais
Olympique Lyonnais has confirmed the transfer of Belgian international Malick Fofana to Sunderland. The deal is valued at up to €35 million, which includes €5 million in bonuses and a potential 12.5% sell-on clause.
Fofana joined OL from Gent in January 2024, making an immediate impact in Ligue 1 with his speed and dribbling skills. During the 2024/2025 season, he showcased his talent, appearing in 41 matches and scoring 11 goals, six of which were in the Europa League. His performances earned him a call-up to the Belgian national team in October 2024.
In total, the 21-year-old played 84 matches for Olympique Lyonnais, netting 19 goals. The club thanked him for his dedication and wished him success in the Premier League.
