Ørsted Sells 24.5% Stake in West of Duddon Sands Wind Farm

Ørsted has sold a 24.5% stake in the West of Duddon Sands Offshore Wind Farm to Schroders Greencoat-managed funds for GBP 456.1 million. The transaction was finalized on April 30, 2025. This wind farm, located 14 km off the UK west coast, has operated since 2014 with a capacity of 389 MW.

Schroders Greencoat, a leader in renewable infrastructure, manages assets over GBP 9.6 billion. Ørsted and Schroders Greencoat have partnered on four offshore wind farms. This divestment is part of Ørsted’s strategy to secure financial stability and diversify risk.

Ørsted retains a 25.5% interest and will continue as the operator under the existing agreement. The company is pursuing an ambitious offshore wind construction program, aiming to double its capacity. Ørsted currently leads the UK’s offshore wind development with over 5 GW in operation and another 5 GW in development.
