Ottobock Sells Human Mobility Wheelchair Division
Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA has announced the sale of its Human Mobility wheelchair business to DHCare, an international medical technology company. The transaction aligns with Ottobock's strategic focus, reinforcing its commitment to key growth areas, specifically prosthetics and neuro-orthotics. CEO Oliver Jakobi emphasized this move as necessary for concentrating on the core business.
DHCare sees this acquisition as a major step for expanding its presence in mobility solutions in Europe. The deal will include the transfer of Dutch pediatric specialist veldink4Kids. All current employees and operations are expected to transition smoothly to DHCare. Financial details remain undisclosed, and the transaction is anticipated for completion in the latter half of 2026.
