Ottobock Unveils 3D-Printed Silicone Liner "iconiq"
Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA has launched "iconiq," a 3D-printed silicone liner designed to enhance prosthesis comfort. Up to 68% of prosthesis users experience residual limb issues, prompting the need for innovation. The iconiq liner, premiered in Germany, aims for a global market launch. It promises tailored solutions with improved comfort, safety, and mobility.
The innovative liner marries digital planning with additive manufacturing. A 3D scan fits the liner to individual anatomical profiles. This process eliminates complex mould constructions, ensuring a perfect fit. The technology supports users with active lifestyles as well as children and adults with mobility grade 2 and higher.
This development marks a shift from standard solutions to customized, efficient fittings. Ottobock's strategy focuses on making high-quality prosthesis fittings accessible worldwide.
