VANEA Defence Introduces ATOMZA® for Civilian Drone Defence
Munich's VANEA Defence announces ATOMZA®, the first drone defence system accessible to civilian operators. The system offers solution access previously limited to public security entities. ATOMZA is designed for use by private organizations, including airports and event organizers. It fills a notable gap in the market by providing counter-UAS capabilities without sovereign enforcement powers.
The technology employs directed photonic radiation to disable a drone's sensors without physical destruction. This non-kinetic approach aids in preventing collateral damage. Ongoing operational testing is in progress with various European security entities, and military trials are anticipated. ATOMZA's commercial deployment for civilian operators is now available.
Jens Hillenköter, Executive Vice President at VANEA Defence, stresses the urgency in addressing Europe's evolving threat environment. The company, founded in 2025, utilizes sovereign European AI models to develop integrated defence technologies. Co-founder Dr. Oliver Hartkorn highlights the strategic importance of a European technological base for sovereignty in defence.
