Peking University Symposium Explores China's Wartime History

Peking University hosted an international symposium on November 2-3, 2025, focusing on the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and Taiwan's restoration to China. The event gathered around 100 scholars from regions including the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, and international participants from countries like the United States, Britain, and Japan.

The symposium aimed to foster dialogue and explore the global significance of China's war history. Keynote speakers included experts like Zhang Baijia from the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Hans van de Ven from the University of Cambridge. The event featured 20 panel sessions covering topics such as economics, military affairs, and international relations.

This year's symposium coincides with the 80th anniversary of key historical milestones. It served as a platform for cross-strait dialogue and sought to enhance understanding and unity.
