PFISTERER and Tele-Fonika Kable Achieve Major Milestone in HVDC Cable Testing

PFISTERER and Tele-Fonika Kable have successfully completed full type testing for a 320 kV High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) cable system as per IEC 62895 standards. The collaboration showcases the system's reliability, integrating PFISTERER's cable joints and outdoor terminations with Tele-Fonika Kable's cables.

The testing, conducted at the KONČAR – Electrical Engineering Institute in Croatia, marks a significant achievement for both companies. It verifies the integrated performance of the cables and components under stringent test conditions, providing grid operators confidence in their capabilities.

The 320 kV HVDC system is designed for fixed land installations, supporting future HVDC projects, offshore wind grid connections, and large-scale renewable energy integration. Further development into 525 kV DC systems is planned, expanding the high-voltage portfolio of both companies.
