PFISTERER Secures Major Contract for Germany's Largest Offshore Wind Farm
PFISTERER Holding SE has been awarded a significant contract to supply electrical connection technology for the offshore wind farms Nordlicht I and II, commissioned by energy provider Vattenfall. Based in Winterbach, Germany, PFISTERER will ensure secure electrical connectivity between the wind turbines and the subsea cable network. The Nordlicht project, with a total installed capacity of 1.7 gigawatts, represents a substantial development in Germany's renewable energy landscape.
The Nordlicht wind farms, set for construction 85 kilometers north of Borkum in the German North Sea, aim to produce approximately 6 terawatt-hours of electricity annually upon completion, sufficient to power 1.7 million households. PFISTERER's pre-assembled solutions are set for delivery by 2027, promising fast, reliable, and low-maintenance installations.
This initiative is expected to significantly aid Germany's decarbonization goals. PFISTERER’s involvement cements its status as a key player in high-voltage offshore connections, bolstering its reputation in delivering reliable solutions under demanding conditions worldwide.
