Photon Energy N.V. Divests 7.6 MWp of Slovak PV Assets

Photon Energy N.V. has finalized the sale of eight photovoltaic power plants in Slovakia, totaling 7.581 MWp. The transaction involves selling shares of special purpose vehicles for EUR 5.6 million, transferring ownership to four private investors. The sale aligns with Photon Energy's strategy to optimize its assets, reduce financial burdens, and improve liquidity.

The PV assets generated EUR 2.1 million in revenue with an EBITDA of around EUR 1.65 million in 2025. Outstanding financing of EUR 4.1 million will remain with the sold entities, impacting the company's financial debt reduction. The plants, with feed-in tariff support until 2030 or 2031, faced capital investment needs and regulatory uncertainties.

Post-sale, Photon Energy retains 50% in three Slovak solar plants, offering better long-term prospects due to land ownership and energy demand proximity. The transaction is expected to lower debt and facilitate restructuring while providing funds for immediate needs.
