Piramal Critical Care and Blue-Zone Technologies Join Forces on Anaesthesia Gas Recycling

Piramal Critical Care, a subsidiary of Piramal Pharma, and Blue-Zone Technologies have entered into a collaboration to capture and recycle waste anaesthetic gases. This partnership combines Blue-Zone's waste gas technology with Piramal's global manufacturing capabilities. The goal is to reduce the environmental impact of volatile anaesthetics while maintaining their essential role in patient care worldwide.

The collaboration will initially focus on introducing Blue-Zone's Phoenix Deltasorb® system in France and Germany, pending regulatory approval. Blue-Zone will manage the system's deployment in healthcare settings, while Piramal will process the captured gas for use in human anaesthesia in Canada. Plans are in place to expand the initiative beyond these regions. This effort aligns with sustainable healthcare goals by providing hospitals with technology that balances clinical needs with environmental responsibility.
