Piramal Pharma Solutions Enhances Sustainability with New Solar Power Plant

Piramal Pharma Solutions is advancing its sustainability efforts by installing a 4.3 MWp solar power plant at its Morpeth, UK site. This initiative aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030. The new installation will provide around 3,950 MWh of renewable energy annually, covering about 22% of the site’s electricity needs.

The solar power plant will feature approximately 6,200 panels, spanning 16 acres, and is expected to power roughly 1,460 UK homes each year. This project is being undertaken in partnership with Alight UK BTM1 Limited, enhancing energy resilience and supporting a lower-carbon future.

Frank Bugg, Senior Vice President at Piramal Pharma Solutions, expressed the company's dedication to integrating sustainability into global operations. The project, set to commence operations in early 2027, will potentially reduce 20,000 tCO₂e over 25 years.
