PNE Sells 40 MW Solar Project to ORLEN in Poland
PNE AG has successfully sold a 40 MW solar project to ORLEN, a leading energy utility in Poland. The project, strategically located near ORLEN's refinery in Płock, will support the decarbonization of a key industrial hub in Europe. The transaction was completed via PNE's subsidiary, PNE Polska, showcasing the Group's strong market presence.
The deal includes the sale of 100% of the shares in "RES Project 5", a company holding the rights to build and operate the solar farm. CEO Holger Gallas highlighted the project’s importance in supplying tailored energy solutions that connect directly to industrial infrastructure.
This "behind-the-meter" approach allows the solar farm to connect directly to ORLEN's internal grid, reducing regulatory risks. ORLEN plans to select a contractor in 2026, with commissioning set for 2028. This transaction underscores PNE's status as a preferred partner for industrial players in Europe.
