PolyU Launches International Future Challenge 2026

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) initiated the PolyU International Future Challenge 2026 on May 13. This innovation and entrepreneurship competition spans eight regions, including Hong Kong and several Chinese cities. It targets local and global innovators to transform ideas into impactful ventures. The launch featured key insights from past participants and industry experts.

The event, led by PolyU's President Prof. Jin-Guang Teng, highlighted the competition's alignment with China's 15th Five-Year Plan, focusing on "AI+". This framework connects innovators with regional industrial clusters in sectors like life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and fintech.

Participants stand a chance to win up to HK$120,000 or RMB100,000 and gain exposure to Chinese Mainland markets. They will also benefit from the PolyVentures startup ecosystem, investor access, and targeted mentorship.

The competition emphasizes five industry domains across its participating regions, enhancing cross-border collaboration and societal impact. Applications are open, with regional finals set to occur from August to November, leading to a Grand Final next January.
