Canary Islands Showcase Talent at Berlinale European Film Market
The Canary Islands have once again made their mark at the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, an event held concurrently with the Berlinale. Coordinated by Canary Islands Government via Canary Islands Film, the island's delegates have scheduled 60 meetings with production companies interested in collaborations or filming in the region.
This year, the delegation comprises over 40 professionals, marking a significant increase from previous years. The mission is led by Proexca and the Canary Islands Audiovisual Cluster. Vice Minister Alfonso Cabello expressed pride in seeing local talent recognized on international stages, attributing success to collaborative efforts across public and private sectors.
Director General Cristóbal de la Rosa emphasized the maturity of the Canary Islands' audiovisual industry, supported by strategic initiatives and international collaborations. Companies represented include Amissus Producciones, Volcano Films, and 7 Islands Film, showcasing the region's diverse creative capabilities.
