QNX Initiates Global Hackathon to Drive Innovation in Critical Systems
QNX, a division of BlackBerry Limited, has launched its inaugural global hackathon, a six-week virtual event starting November 2, 2026. The event aims to gather developers globally to innovate on the QNX Software Development Platform 8.0. With $50,000 in prizes, participants can compete in various categories ranging from robotics to automotive applications. The deadline for entries is December 15, 2026, with winners announced in February 2027.
The hackathon is a part of QNX's strategic initiative, QNX Everywhere, which grants free non-commercial use of QNX technology. Since 2025, over 30,000 licenses have been downloaded, engaging numerous developers, researchers, and students worldwide. This event also aims to build a talent pipeline by exposing participants to QNX tools and open-source projects.
