Redwood AI Secures NRC Funding for Chemical Safety Project

Redwood AI Corp. has announced approval for support from the National Research Council of Canada's Industrial Research Assistance Program. This includes advisory services and funding up to C$240,000 for their Q-SAFE project. The initiative aims to enhance hazardous chemical risk classification using AI and quantum-enhanced optimization.

Q-SAFE seeks to improve the identification of potentially dangerous chemicals by integrating Redwood's AI with advanced optimization techniques. The project will help in environments requiring rapid hazardous material identification, crucial for security and defence applications.

As regulatory demands increase, Redwood sees growing demand for advanced tools in risk assessment before chemical shipment or use. Anticipated to start in May 2026, the project matches the NRC's Defence Industry Assist initiative, supporting Canadian tech advancements.

The initiative highlights Redwood's push into safety, security, and defence sectors. CEO Louis Dron noted the importance of dual-use technologies and Redwood's role in developing practical solutions.
