Salix Pharmaceuticals Launches IBS Awareness Campaign

Bausch Health Companies Inc.'s gastroenterology division, Salix Pharmaceuticals, announced the launch of the campaign "IBS Symptoms Aren't Black and White: Living in the Gray" during IBS Awareness Month. This initiative aims to shed light on the complexities of living with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) by sharing authentic patient stories on LinkedIn throughout April.
IBS affects an estimated 10% of the global population, with symptoms impacting physical, emotional, social, and professional aspects of patients' lives. Salix, in partnership with the International Foundation for Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD), seeks to normalize open discussions about IBS symptoms, thereby reducing stigma.
Nicola Kayel, Senior VP of Marketing at Salix, emphasizes the uniqueness of each patient's experience, encouraging others to seek appropriate care. Ceciel T. Rooker, President of IFFGD, supports this campaign's goal to broaden understanding and elevate authentic patient experiences.
