Sandoz and Rwanda Sign Critical Medicine Supply Agreement

Sandoz Group AG has announced a new agreement with the Rwandan government to supply essential medicines, including antibiotics and cancer therapies, to Rwanda and selected African markets. This agreement supports efforts to stabilize the provision of critical medications across these regions.

The agreement is part of a larger initiative following the 2025 Alpbach Communiqué, which aims to secure the EU-based supply of critical antibiotics to Europe and partner areas. The medicines will be produced and supplied from Sandoz's facility in Kundl, Austria, a key European manufacturing hub.

Rwanda's Minister of Health, Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana, highlighted this as a move towards better access to quality and affordable treatments, particularly for cancer and infectious diseases. Sandoz views this as a step towards creating a sustainable model for regional medicine procurement, ensuring high-quality care for patients in Africa and beyond.
