Saudi Properties Portal Opens for Foreign Ownership Applications
The Real Estate General Authority (REGA) of Saudi Arabia has initiated applications for foreign real estate ownership via the "Saudi Properties" portal. This follows the enactment of the Foreign Real Estate Ownership Law in January 2026. The portal serves both local and international prospective property owners, providing a digital platform to complete all necessary regulatory procedures online.
Non-Saudi individuals with residency can apply using their residency number, while those abroad must first acquire a digital identity card from Saudi missions. Companies without a Saudi presence need to register with the Ministry of Investment through the "Invest Saudi" platform prior to proceeding.
While ownership is widespread across various regions, it remains regulated in Makkah and Madinah, reserved for Saudi companies and Muslim individuals. This regulatory framework aims to enhance market transparency, support urban growth, and improve the ownership experience, amid a transformative period in the Saudi real estate landscape.
