Schaeffler AG Expands Partial Retirement Offer in Germany
Schaeffler AG has announced the expansion of its partial retirement offer in Germany. The decision comes as a response to strong interest from employees and aims to bolster the company's cost structure and competitive edge. The new offer includes flexible models, incorporating both active and passive work phases with terms ranging from two to eight years. This initiative is in collaboration with the Group Works Council and aligns with previous structural measures from November 2024.
About 20% of targeted employees, approximately 1,300 individuals, are expected to take advantage of this offer. The implementation will incur a one-time expense of 51 million euros in 2026, but financial benefits are anticipated from 2027. The program not only addresses individual retirement needs but also enhances the age balance within Schaeffler's workforce, reflecting a strategic approach to human resource management.
