Schuler introduces FAST technology for aluminum hot stamping

Schuler North America, a subsidiary of Schuler Group GmbH, in partnership with MetalForming Magazine, is hosting a free webinar on Tuesday, March 12 at 10:30 a.m. EST, to discuss maximizing efficiency and productivity in hot stamping of metal. 'aluminum. Titled “Maximize Efficiency and Productivity of Aluminum Hot Stamping”, this webinar aims to meet the growing demand for lightweight materials in the automotive and aerospace sector.

The FAST (Fast Light Alloys Stamping Technology) process presented by Schuler is a major innovation in aluminum hot forming. Initially developed within the laboratories of Imperial College London, this technology eliminates the need for a furnace for aluminum production, promising a significant reduction in operational costs and production times, whilst providing greater volumetric efficiency.

Jens Aspacher, Head of Hot Stamping Sales at Schuler Pressen GmbH, will highlight the advantages of FAST technology compared to the standard Solution Heat Treatment (SHT) process. Among other benefits, FAST allows aluminum parts to be formed at a temperature at least 200 degrees Celsius lower than SHT, resulting in substantial energy savings and reduced press cycle time.
