SdK Urges Kronos EKS Bondholders to Unite for Protection
The German investor protection association, SdK, has issued a call to action for bondholders of Kronos EKS AG & Co. KG (previously BayWa Bond) to join forces in safeguarding their interests. On 18 September 2026, Kronos substituted BayWa AG, undertaking a debt transfer. The bondholders are invited to a written vote, scheduled from 12 to 14 October 2026, regarding significant changes to the bond's terms.
The contentious proposal suggests bondholders irrevocably assign 98% of their principal, accrued interest, and future interest to a trustee, without compensation. It also seeks to decrease the coupon from 7.75% p.a. to 3.00% p.a., while releasing BayWa AG’s guarantees for 98% of both the principal and interest. SdK highlights that these terms essentially leave bondholders with only 2% of their claims and no rights to future gains.
SdK advises bondholders to mobilize, join an interest group, and authorize their organization to vote on their behalf for maximal protection. Registration for updates and voting representation is available at www.sdk.org/baywa.
