Seragy Secures €12 Million to Develop Biomarkers for Neurodegenerative Diseases
seragy holding GmbH, based in Hanover, Germany, has secured €12 million in funding to accelerate the development of its SeRAS® technology platform. The financing, supported by Commerzbank, the Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft (MBG), and the State of Lower Saxony, will enhance seragy's laboratory and analytical capabilities.
The SeRAS® platform aims to develop quantitative biomarkers for proteopathies like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and ALS. These diseases, characterized by pathological protein aggregation, pose significant challenges in medicine. SeRAS technology provides insights into protein aggregation through molecular fingerprints, which aids in developing targeted therapies.
Separately, seragy received backing from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research, further supporting their efforts to create a quantitative biomarker assay for Parkinson's disease.
