Shanghai Electric Lands First Overseas Gas Turbine Deal in Malaysia
Shanghai Electric has secured a landmark contract for the Sarawak Samalaju Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Project in Malaysia, marking its first international heavy-duty gas turbine order. This achievement highlights the company's global recognition and competitiveness in the gas turbine market.
The contract includes a full EPC turnkey solution for the 500 MW gas-fired power plant, along with a 25-year long-term service agreement. Shanghai Electric will manufacture all core components in-house and provide comprehensive life-cycle services—positioning itself alongside established global leaders.
Shanghai Electric's heavy-duty turbine lineup includes models producing 300 MW and 78 MW. The company has delivered 103 units, representing a total installed capacity exceeding 21,000 MW, with substantial experience in service programs.
