Shell and METLEN Forge Strategic LNG Partnership

Shell and METLEN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 24, 2026, to collaborate in the supply and trading of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). This agreement establishes a framework for a yearly supply of 0.5 to 1.0 bcm from 2027 to 2031 to Greek LNG facilities. The deal includes provisions for utilizing the Vertical Gas Corridor, expanding market access beyond Southeast Europe.

Shell, a leading global LNG producer, and METLEN, a key player in Southeast Europe, view this cooperation as a step to enhance Europe's energy resilience. The partnership aims to strengthen Greece's position as an energy hub while promoting market liquidity and regional energy security.

Executive Chairman of METLEN, Evangelos Mytilineos, emphasized the importance of the agreement in enhancing METLEN's role in European natural gas markets. The MoU reflects intentions for joint development in line with the Vertical Gas Corridor initiative, with strategic implications for both companies.
