SMA Solar Technology AG Reports Preliminary 2025 Financial Results and 2026 Outlook
SMA Solar Technology AG disclosed its preliminary, non-audited financial figures for 2025, revealing a slight sales decline of 0.9% to €1,516.0 million. The operating EBITDA, before one-time expenses, stood at €106.6 million, a decrease from the previous year's €147.5 million. Including one-time items, the EBITDA dropped significantly to −€65.4 million due to several impairments and restructuring costs.
The company's order backlog remained stable at €1,352.0 million, while net income decreased to −€181.1 million, leading to earnings per share of −€5.22. For 2026, SMA projects sales between €1,475 million and €1,675 million, with a positive EBITDA range of €50 million to €180 million. The company's outlook accounts for existing trade and geopolitical conditions.
The Large Scale & Project Solutions division saw sales growth to €1,268.8 million thanks to SMA Altenso GmbH's expansion. However, sales in the Home & Business Solutions division dropped significantly.
