SMX and REDWAVE Pioneer Major Breakthrough in Recycling Industry

SMX (NASDAQ: SMX), alongside BT-Systems' Competence Center REDWAVE, has achieved a significant advancement in recycling technology, effectively identifying and sorting stubborn plastics. This breakthrough was demonstrated over two days at REDWAVE's Austrian facility, in front of Singapore's A*STAR and Europe's NAFRA. The process achieved near-perfect accuracy and unprecedented speed in sorting and certifying various plastics including food-grade and flame-retardant types.

The ability to consistently certify recycled plastics addresses the longstanding issue of chaotic recycling systems rife with inconsistent rules and auditing. This new certification process from SMX enables brand owners to rely on recycled materials, thus reducing costs and aligning with stringent regulations.

Additionally, the new Plastic Cycle Token (PCT) promises to turn certified plastics into tradeable commodities, enhancing recycling's value proposition. The support from A*STAR and NAFRA underscores the importance of this advancement as it paves the way for a global shift in recycling standards.
