SMX Pioneers FDA-Compliant Molecular Marking in Global Recycling

SMX (NASDAQ: SMX) has taken a significant step in the global plastics market, valued at $824 billion, by introducing a molecular marker technology. This innovation aims to transform the $50 billion recycling segment, enabling recycled content to meet standards equivalent to virgin plastic, including safety compliance for food packaging.

In collaboration with Tradepro, SMX embedded its molecular marker into rPET resin, adhering to FDA regulations for Food Contact Substances. This achievement allows recycled resin to carry an embedded digital identity, ensuring proof of origin and authenticity. SMX's initiative promotes recycled plastics' transition into premium markets, such as food-grade packaging.

Moreover, SMX's technology introduces a "digital passport" for recycled content, ensuring integrity throughout the recycling loop. Successful trials in ASEAN and Europe, alongside regulatory accommodation in the U.S., highlight SMX's capability to certify diverse plastic materials.
