SNCF Réseau Awards Eiffage €70 Million Contract for Railway Renovations
SNCF Réseau has entrusted Eiffage with a major contract to renovate the Amiens – Laon rail line, in preparation for the Seine-North Europe Canal. The project requires the construction of overhead railway bridges, including a 908-meter-long bridge over the canal, and a 77-meter "Warren" type viaduct. This €70 million contract is expected to last three and a half years.
Eiffage, a leading construction group, will spearhead the initiative through a consortium. Eiffage Génie Civil will manage primary infrastructure and concrete structures. Eiffage Métal will handle the Warren-type bridge, while Eiffage Rail will install new rail tracks. Pro-Fond will contribute to deep foundations.
Construction is set to begin in 2027, with project completion aimed for February 2029. This initiative showcases Eiffage's expertise in modernising railway networks.
