Societe Generale Advances in Share Buy-Back Programme
Societe Generale announced it has completed 32.5% of its extraordinary EUR 1.5 billion share buy-back program as of August 21, 2026. The program, launched on August 3, aims to cancel part of the share capital. This aligns with the company's strategy to manage its capital more efficiently by reducing the outstanding shares.
From August 17 to 21, Societe Generale executed several transactions across various platforms including XPAR, CEUX, TQEX, and AQEU. The daily transaction volume varied, with the highest being on August 20 at 375,467 shares on platform XPAR. The prices fluctuated as well, reflecting market conditions, with a weighted average of EUR 78.6356 per share over the period.
This buy-back initiative reflects Societe Generale's commitment to enhancing shareholder value. The company stated that the cancellation of shares will be executed under the legal provision to cancel a maximum of 10% of share capital over 24 months.
