Societe Generale Advances Share Buy-Back Programme
As of August 7, 2026, Societe Generale has achieved 9.2% completion of its EUR 1.5 billion extraordinary share buy-back initiative. The programme commenced on August 3, 2026, following its announcement on July 30, 2026. The purchases are part of a strategic plan aiming to cancel shares in adherence with legal limits, allowing a maximum cancellation of 10% of share capital over 24 months.
Transactions occurred from August 3 to August 7, 2026, with shares purchased on various platforms including XPAR, CEUX, TQEX, and AQEU. In total, 1,659,181 shares were acquired at an average price of EUR 83.5331 per share. This move aligns with the 18th resolution of the general shareholder meeting held earlier this year.
The buy-back is intended to optimize shareholder value and manage capital distribution efficiently, reflecting the bank's commitment to strategic financial management amid evolving market conditions.
