Solitario Secures Drilling Permits for Cat Creek Project in Colorado

Solitario Resources Corp. has announced the acquisition of drilling permits for the Cat Creek critical metals project in Colorado. This project focuses on a molybdenum-rhenium porphyry system identified by Anaconda Copper in the 1980s. Anaconda's plans for drilling were halted due to corporate changes, leaving the site unexplored until now.

Solitario obtained a 100% interest in Cat Creek in 2023 and completed the necessary permits for drilling slated for mid-2026. Both molybdenum and rhenium, classified as strategic and critical metals, are crucial for industries such as aerospace and defense. Colorado's geographical context strengthens the project's significance given its proximity to major molybdenum mines, Climax and Henderson.

Solitario's President, Chris Herald, emphasized the project's importance amid current demands for domestic critical metals. Sampling suggests high rhenium grades in molybdenum-rich rocks, aligning with findings from Anaconda's past surveys.
