Nansha: A Rising Cultural Hub in the Greater Bay Area
Guangzhou's Nansha district is rapidly establishing itself as a key player in the cultural scene of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The district is gearing up to host the Mayday 25th Anniversary Tour from December 5 to 15, 2025, at the newly inaugurated GBA Culture and Sports Center, marking its seventh large-scale music event this year.
Nansha's rise began with the Guangzhou Strawberry Music Festival in December 2024. Since then, numerous events, including international acts such as The Chainsmokers and virtual artist Luo Tianyi, have taken place. The recently launched GBA Culture and Sports Center, featuring extensive facilities, has become a pivotal venue for these events.
The district is also gaining recognition with non-musical attractions, drawing 710,000 visitors to its first GBA Lantern Fair. As Nansha celebrates its 20th anniversary, it aims to solidify its position as a cultural and economic hub, appealing to both international and local audiences.
