Springer Nature Announces Solid Start to 2025 Financial Year

Springer Nature, a prominent global publisher, has reported a positive beginning to its 2025 financial year. In the first quarter, revenue rose 6% to €450 million, and adjusted operating profit increased by 11% to €108 million.

The growth was primarily driven by the Research segment, highlighting a significant uptick in Full Open Access outputs. Additionally, two new Nature reviews, enhancing support in emerging research fields, were introduced.

Technological investments also contributed, as the proprietary platform Snapp experienced an 80% growth in submissions. Furthermore, Springer Nature refined its 2025 guidance, projecting profits in the upper range of €523 million to €546 million.

Despite the flat performance in the Education sector, the company maintains a strong outlook, buoyed by improvements across various operational areas and strategic priorities.
