Sterling Metals Reports Promising Findings at Soo Copper Project
Sterling Metals Corp. has announced promising results from its first drill hole at the newly renamed Soo Copper Project near Batchewana Bay, Ontario. The project, renamed from Copper Road, has revealed significant copper mineralization through a bulk-tonnage porphyry copper-molybdenum-silver-gold target.
The initial drill hole intersected 359 meters of 0.36% copper equivalent, including a high-grade section of 0.56% copper equivalent over 75 meters. Mineralization is associated with an early stage felsite porphyry and includes large patches of chalcopyrite and bornite.
Experts believe the drill findings suggest potential for a significant porphyry copper deposit within the Midcontinent Rift, historically known for rich copper deposits. The project benefits from proximity to existing infrastructure, residing near major transport routes and the city of Sault Ste. Marie.
