SWI Group Boosts Digital Infrastructure with $500 Million Acquisition
On June 15, 2026, SWI Group announced the acquisition of a significant shareholding in Genesis Digital Assets Limited (GDA), a move that strengthens its transatlantic digital infrastructure capabilities. With operations mainly in the USA, GDA brings 1.3 GW of energized and approved grid connections to the table, distributed across 15 facilities, including hyperscaler-grade sites in Texas.
This $500 million deal allows SWI Group to pivot these resources from digital asset mining to high-performance computing and AI workloads. Aligning these assets with its AiOnX European data centers, SWI enhances its global capacity to 3.6 GW. This makes it one of the world's leading firms in AI-ready infrastructure.
The acquisition aligns with SWI's strategy of optimizing power connectivity in digital infrastructure. Max-Hervé George, SWI's CEO, emphasized the strategic shift from cryptocurrency mining to AI and high-performance computing as the best use of existing assets.
