Tata Communications Invests in AI Super Highway in India

Tata Communications has announced a strategic investment of nearly USD 450 million to build an AI super highway in India. This project aims to establish approximately 10,000 km of high-speed, low-latency fiber network. The network will connect India's key AI data centers, creating one of the largest AI-ready connectivity infrastructures in the country. Integrated with its global network, the project aims to support next-generation AI workloads with enhanced performance and scalability.

India's data center industry is set for considerable growth, with rising cloud adoption and AI deployment. Tata Communications' initiative aims to meet the escalating demand from hyperscale providers and digital enterprises. The first phase targets the Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad-Chennai corridor, with future expansion to the East and West coasts, fortifying India as a global AI connectivity hub.
