The African School of Governance Inaugurates in Kigali to Foster Leadership Excellence in Africa

The African School of Governance (ASG) officially launched on January 14, 2025, in Kigali, Rwanda. This event opened the recruitment for its inaugural cohort for the 2025/2026 academic year. Co-founded by Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Ethiopia's former Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, ASG aims to nurture leaders by providing innovative public policy education and a platform for governance engagement.

During the launch, Hailemariam Desalegn emphasized ASG's role in shaping a new generation of leaders committed to ethical and innovative governance. A high-level panel, featuring esteemed figures like Dr. Donald Kaberuka and Professor Kingsley Moghalu, discussed the importance of public policy education in Africa's development.

ASG plans to enroll over 100 students for its Master of Public Administration programs, promoting diversity and inclusion among its recruits. The institution aspires to produce 2,000 graduates within five years, contributing towards Africa's sustainable development goals.
