The Platform Group Expands in Optics Sector
The Platform Group SE & Co. KGaA has announced the expansion of its "Optics & Hearing" segment. Previously, in 2025, the company established this segment to connect local optical stores with the MyGlasses online platform. During that year, acquisitions included Beste Aussichten GmbH, Karrasch & Nolte, and Freudenhaus Optik Handels GmbH, expanding to over 30 locations nationwide.
Recently, the group acquired Blickpunkt GmbH Brillen und Contactlinsen in Starnberg, Bavaria. The deal was executed through TPG's subsidiary, Feine Augenoptik Beteiligungs-GmbH, with closing expected by April 2026.
The move aims to enhance the Optics & Hearing segment, which boasts an EBITDA margin of 20-25%. Dr. Dominik Benner, CEO of TPG, highlighted the strategic expansion, emphasizing the integration of local opticians into the platform to ensure a profitable segment.
