Thyssenkrupp Nucera Unveils Sustainable Headquarters in Dortmund
On November 29, 2024, Thyssenkrupp Nucera celebrated the opening of its new headquarters at Stadtkrone Ost in Dortmund. The new facility spans 11,400 m², housing 560 office workstations. The event was attended by city and regional leaders, marking a show of commitment to Dortmund by the electrolysis technology provider.
The design reflects high sustainability standards, featuring geothermal energy, full insulation, and a photovoltaic system. The building is aligned with energy efficiency requirements, achieving KfW Efficiency Building 40 EE and DGNB Gold certification. The modern environment includes a Bistro+, green courtyard, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
Dr. Werner Ponikwar, Thyssenkrupp Nucera's CEO, emphasizes the headquarters as a hub for interaction and collaboration, fitting for the hybrid working model. Dortmund's Lord Mayor, Thomas Westphal, applauded the company's role in green hydrogen technology development, seeing the new site as a commitment to local heritage.
