Turkiye Garanti Bankasi Sells Non-Performing Loan Portfolios
Turkiye Garanti Bankasi A.S. has announced the sale of its non-performing loan (NPL) portfolios, totaling six separate transactions. The total principal and contractual interest amounted to TL 3,014,176,843.77. These assets included various receivables, such as loans and credit card debts.
The sales were executed between August 17 and August 24, 2026. In these transactions, the bank received a total consideration of TL 449,000,000. Key buyers included Gelecek Varlık Yönetimi A.Ş., Novatra Varlık Yönetim A.Ş., Birikim Varlık Yönetim A.Ş., and İstanbul Varlık Yönetim A.Ş.
The transactions reflect Garanti BBVA's ongoing efforts to manage its financial health by offloading non-performing assets. These actions are in line with regulatory guidelines as per the Board's Communiqué, Serial II Nr.15.1. The transactions intend to improve liquidity and operational efficiency.
