Two Malagasy brothers conquer Everest
On May 23, Raj-Alexandre and Raïs Bouka reached the summit of Mount Everest, becoming the first Malagasy to achieve this feat. Together, the brothers climbed to 8,848 meters, braving the dangers of the Khumbu Glacier and extreme weather conditions. This represents a significant achievement for Madagascar and Africa.
This historic achievement is the result of several years of preparation and unwavering resilience. Raj-Alexandre made history by becoming the youngest African to reach the summit of the world and to successfully climb Lhotse in the same season.
Their father, Zouzar Bouka, although he did not reach the top, played a crucial role in the success of this family achievement. His leadership inspired his sons to push the limits of their abilities and to bring honor to their country.
