U-blox Reveals New Leadership Structure
On May 27, 2026, u-blox announced a revamped leadership structure to drive its growth and innovation. Matthias Poppel has been appointed as CEO, with Andreas Thiel assuming the role of CTO and Christian Spörri as CFO. This new team is tasked with steering the company through its next developmental phase, targeting both existing and new market segments.
Poppel joined u-blox at the end of last year as Chief Growth Officer. He brings a wealth of experience from previous roles at Swissbit, Texas Instruments, and NXP. Meanwhile, Spörri, who has been with u-blox since 2022, steps up as CFO following the departure of Camila Japur.
