U-blox Unveils SIG 2.00 GNSS Firmware for Enhanced Wi-Fi Geolocation

u-blox AG, a leader in positioning and communication technologies, has introduced the SIG 2.00 GNSS firmware, designed specifically for Wi-Fi 6E/7/8 access points operating in the 6 GHz band. This release aims to meet Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) regulatory requirements in the US and Canada by providing 95%-confidence geolocation accuracy. The firmware enhances positioning accuracy in challenging environments and is compatible with u-blox M10 and F10 platforms, facilitating faster integration and compliance.

SIG 2.00's turnkey geolocation solution supports the deployment of location-enabled Wi-Fi infrastructure by ensuring safe coexistence of access points with existing 6 GHz band users. It offers flexibility through single-band (L1) and dual-band (L1/L5) GNSS options, helping OEMs achieve regulatory compliance and adapt to various deployment needs.
