Cambridge University to Launch Rokos School of Government with Historic Donation
The University of Cambridge has announced the creation of the Rokos School of Government, enabled by a record-breaking £190 million donation from investor Chris Rokos. This significant contribution marks the largest donation to a British university in modern history. The new institution aims to equip future leaders to address complex global issues, drawing on Cambridge's expertise in technology, sciences, and social sciences.
The initial £130 million support from Rokos, with further potential funding of £60 million, will be matched by the University. The school will be located in Cambridge's West Innovation District, emphasizing the integration of technology and sciences with humanities.
Rokos expressed hope that the school would harness world-class thought and innovation. With operations commencing in Autumn 2026, it plans to host PhD and Masters students and employ faculty from diverse academic disciplines alongside government and business experts.
