Ur-Energy Launches Operations at Shirley Basin Project in Wyoming

Ur-Energy Inc., a prominent uranium producer, has begun mining operations at the Shirley Basin Project, Wyoming. This marks a significant milestone as the company transitions its second in situ recovery (ISR) mine from development to production. The project, located in a historic ISR district, enhances Ur-Energy's ability to meet rising uranium demand.

The Shirley Basin operation starts with uranium bearing solution collection from Mine Unit 1, following intensive construction and permitting. The expected ramp-up will see uranium loaded resin transported to Lost Creek for processing by summer, pending regulatory approval.

This project leverages existing infrastructure, aiming for a licensed annual capacity of up to 2 million pounds U₃O₈, supported by a resource base of 9.1 million pounds. With an anticipated mine life of nine years, it signifies Ur-Energy's strategic growth and increasing role in the U.S. nuclear fuel cycle.
