Valerio Therapeutics Appoints New CEO and Confirms AGM Resolutions
Valerio Therapeutics has announced the appointment of Dr. Gilles Besin as the new CEO, starting 1 July 2026. This appointment is part of a planned governance transition following the company's annual general meeting held on 16 June 2026. Dr. Besin, with extensive experience in RNA medicines and targeted delivery, has previously held significant roles at Orbital Therapeutics and Affinivax. His leadership is expected to drive Valerio's next phase of innovation in precision-guided therapeutics.
At the general meeting, all resolutions proposed by the Board of Directors were approved, including the renewal and appointment of several directors. The outgoing CEO, Julien Miara, and Deputy CEO, Antoine Barouky, will remain on the Board to ensure a smooth transition. This leadership change aims to strengthen the company's strategic capabilities and accelerate its growth trajectory.
